Education Background

She attended Armitage Junior and Senior Boarding Schools from 1992 to 1998. From a pure science field, she diverted from the sciences to study Management and Economics for her BSc. She has a certificate in Training of Trainers, a diploma with distinction in Human Resources Management, and MSc (distinction) in Social Protection Financing.

Work Experience

Prior to her appointment as Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources, Hon. John served as the Governor of the Lower River Region for three years. She also worked for the Medical Research Council, The Gambia as Field Assistant and the first female Field Supervisor/ Trainer for two and three years respectively. At QuantunNet Institute of Technology, she served as Administration Officer for eight years, before moving to the Social Development Fund as Regional Manager for one year. In 2017 she was employed by the Gambia Tourism Board as Destination Manager, posted to Saudi Arabia, covering the Middle East and the Arabian Peninsula for two years.
