Hon. Dr. Habibatou Drammeh

 

EDUCATION

Honourable Drammeh holds PhD in Public Administration, which she earned from the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of The Gambia in December 2020. Before that, she obtained an International Master of Business Administration (I.M.B.A) from National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan, in January 2014. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of The Gambia, which she completed in October 2007. Her educational achievements reflect a strong foundation in leadership, governance, and strategic management, both at the national and international levels.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Honourable Drammeh is the current Minister for Basic and Secondary Education, she was the Head of the Department of the Management Sciences in the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of The Gambia from 2014 to February 2020. She has also served as the Administrative Coordinator of the Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), at UTG. Dr. Drammeh is a trained educator, counsellor, researcher, negotiator, project manager, and consultant in education administration. She has served as an academic lecturer in Business, Management, and Finance at the Tertiary level since 2011. In addition, the Honourable Minister has also served in several leadership positions including Acting President of the School of Business and Public Administration Staff Association and Vice President University of The Gambia Faculty and Staff Association. Dr. Drammeh was an adjunct lecturer at the Management Development Institute (MDI) and the American International University (AIU) in The Gambia.

AWARDS

The Honourable Minister has been recognized for her dedication and exceptional contributions through several prestigious awards. In 2014, she was awarded the MOFA Taiwan Fellowship, which supported her postgraduate studies and highlighted her academic excellence and potential in international public service. In 2007, she received the Outstanding Performance Award from the Personnel Management Office in The Gambia, acknowledging her commitment to professional excellence and public sector development. These honours underscore her consistent pursuit of excellence and her impactful role in administrative and academic circles.
