State House, Banjul, 23rd April 2025: The Gambia joins the global Catholic community and stands in solidarity with the People of The Vatican in mourning the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis.

His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia has dispatched a message of condolence to His Eminence Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Interim Administrative Leader of the Holy Roman Church. On behalf of the Government and the People of The Gambia, President Barrow sympathises with The Holy See, the Catholic Community in The Gambia and globally on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. The message recounts the personality and hard work of Pope Francis to bring peace to the world and leaves a legacy that continues to inspire generations to come.

The President prays for his soul to rest in Eternal Peace.
