State House, Banjul, 10th May 2025: On behalf of the Government, the people, and all Catholics in The Gambia, President Adama Barrow conveys heartfelt congratulations to His Holiness Pope Leon XIV of the Holy See on his assumption of the sacred leadership of the Roman Catholic Church.

The President is optimistic that the Pope would foster peace and the shared values of people of all faiths. He wishes His Holiness the strength to lead the Catholic Church and usher in a new brotherhood, promoting peace and harmony between all peoples.   Additionally, President Barrow assures His Holiness of the fervent prayers of the Gambian people for a successful tenure.
