State House, Banjul, 24th April 2025: The Office of the President wishes to inform the public that His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, will attend the inauguration of the OMVG electricity Project at Antula, in the Republic of Guinea Bissau on Friday, 25th April 2025. The President will depart Banjul International Airport tomorrow at 9:30AM.

The Antula substation is part of the sub regional project to provide interstate electricity supply in The Gambia, Senegal, Guinea and Guinea Bissau. In 2020, The Gambia inaugurated the Soma substation which increases electricity access in the country. The launch of the Bissau substation is a move towards creating a more reliable access to electricity, key in the industrial and economic development of the sub region.
