President Adama Barrow received US Ambassador at large on Global Criminal Justice

President Adama Barrow received US Ambassador at large on Global Criminal Justice, Ms Van Schaack, for a second time, within two last years on progress of the country’s Transitional Justice programme.

 

President Barrow re-echoed his commitment to supporting the implementation of the TRRC Report and reiterate his government’s readiness to work with partner in realizing the recommendations.

 

“Both justice and reparation components need support. I assure you that we are committed to implementing the TRRC”. President Barrow emphasized.

 

Ambassador Schaack expressed satisfaction on the progress registered since her last visit to The Gambia. She pledged the United States’ continued support to the Transitional Justice Programme.

 

The United States Ambassador to The Gambia, H.E Sharon Cromer and The Gambia’s Justice Minister Dawda Jallow accompanied Ambassador Schaack to the State House.

 

In 2022, The Gambia Government in its White Paper on TRRC Report accepted on TRRC Report accepted most of the recommendations and committed to implementing them.
