State House, Banjul, 23rd June 2026: The Office of the President informs the public that His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, has declared Thursday, 25th June 2026, as a public holiday throughout the country in observance of Yawm al-Ashura.

On behalf of the First Family, the Government, and as Chairman of the OIC, President Barrow warmly wishes the Muslim community at home and abroad a blessed Yawm al-Ashura. He conveys his prayers of best wishes, peace and stability globally, especially countries facing conflicts and wars.
