World leaders send congratulatory messages to President Barrow on historic landslide victory 

Following his landslide victory in the 4th December Presidential Election, His Excellency, President Adama Barrow, received congratulatory messages from several Heads of State, amongst them, Excellencies Macky Sall and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the republics of Senegal and Turkey, respectively. After extending best wishes to His Excellency on his historic reelection, both Heads of State reaffirmed their commitment to forging stronger ties between their countries and The Gambia under the leadership of President Adama Barrow. 

Meanwhile, at the national level, His Excellency also received congratulatory messages from prominent businessmen including  Managing Director of Dabanani Electrical Company Ltd, Alhagie Conteh, who wrote, “Following the successful conduct of this year's election and your victory as the candidate of the NPP; I heartily congratulate you and your party on this triumph.” adding that he is confident that President Barrow will lead the country as a united force in peace and tranquillity as President of all Gambians. Mr Conteh pledged that the private sector would continue to create job opportunities for Gambians and contribute to economic growth. He concluded with prayers for good health and prosperity under what he described as President  Barrow’s “humane and tolerant leadership.”

The Managing Director of BMG Properties Mr Gana Jeng, also his warmest congratulations to President Barrow on his re-election, which he described as “a strong stamp of democracy, peace and freedom in The Gambia”.

The latest message to reach the Presidency came from Mrs Cherie Blair, CBE, QC of Omnia, London. Mrs Blair’s statement is in appreciation of the wisdom and integrity the President led Gambians and said, “your re-election stands as a testament to how you have steered your country through the global pandemic and return to democracy while restoring the reputation of the Smiling Coast to the place it deserves.” 

She concluded by renewing her organization’s commitment to work with the Barrow Administration going forward.
